Royal View, Brighton

Under a Design and Build contract, CBG successfully delivered façade remediation at Royal View in Brighton—the UK’s first Cladding Safety Scheme (CSS) project to reach site. Works involved removal of combustible materials from the external envelope and installation of Euroclass A2-s1, d0 or better non-combustible components, including firestopping at all key junctions. The project was delivered in a logistically constrained location opposite the Royal Pavilion, adjacent to critical civic infrastructure.

Royal View’s public visibility, constrained working conditions, and pedestrian-heavy surroundings closely align with the sensitivities at Quayside Lofts. Our work included scaffold solutions and debris containment that preserved the visual character of the area while ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.

Stakeholders, including local authorities and the building owner, praised our planning rigour and coordination with statutory bodies. Our careful interface management and unobtrusive delivery were identified as standout project strengths.

Working in a high-profile, high-traffic environment reinforced the importance of integrated logistics and stakeholder planning. These processes—developed in partnership with local traffic and emergency services—have been refined and will directly inform our public interface strategy for Quayside Lofts.
